The Power Plan to Success


The Junior Organization organized its first seminar entitled, “ The Power Plan to Success”. It was held last September 15, 2017 at the Narra Campus AVR. The speaker, Ms. Jhoylene Reyes, is currently with the Philippines' largest multidisciplinary professional services firm, SGV & Co.

The goal of the seminar is to inspire and motivate the students. The speaker mentioned that the challenges and struggles that we are facing make life interesting. According to her, life has two rules: 1) Never quit. 2) Always remember rule 1. For every challenge encountered, there is always an opportunity for growth.

The seminar ended with the Junior Organization officers expressing their appreciation and thanks to the speaker for sharing her time and experiences with the students. 

Sportsfest 2017


The CKS College intramurals officially opened last September 6, 2017 at the Benjamin Chua Jr. Gymnasium (Narra Campus) with two exhibition games-- a basketball game and a volleyball game, featuring CKS College faculty members, office personnel, and students. Organized by the College Student Executive Council and the Senior High School Student Government,  the games served to promote teamwork, camaraderie, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.

The participating teams for the Intramurals were also introduced in a parade of colors: Rising Aces, Knights, Caution, Duke, Legacy, Gladiators, Huskies, Hype, Team Power.  While for the volleyball team we have Peculiars, Crusaders, Legacy, and Team Rangers. These teams are composed of both College and Senior High School students.

CKS College Administrative Director and Vice President Mr. Judelio Yap led the oath taking for the teams. Meanwhile, Ms Wai Lin Sing and Mr.Judelio Yap awarded the team Huskies for the best in Jersey. Jadienne Iris Go was awarded Miss Intrams and Eduard Erick Tan was awarded Mr. Intrams.

Froshback Friday


The CKS College Student Executive Council welcomed freshmen and new students to CKS College through a 50s to 90s themed activity, entitled "Froshback Friday." Held at the 7th floor of the Narra Campus, freshmen got to know each other and upperclassmen through the fun activities and games that were prepared for them.

 

Presentation of Honors' Circle Scholars and Scholars under the Tomas Siatianun Educational Foundation and Contract Signing


Last August 17, 2017, the annual CKS College Honors’ Circle Memorandum of Agreement Signing was held at the CKS College Main Campus, Oracle Room.

The Honors’ Circle is an academic scholarship program funded by the generous benefactors from the Chiang Kai Shek College Alumni Association Inc. (CKSCAAI), initially pursued by former CKSCAAI President, Mr. Albert Tan Lee and CKS College Dean of Business Accountancy and HRM, Ms. Maribel Chan. As of today, the program is now on its 5th year having the first batch of scholars already graduated last academic year 2016 - 2017.

Present in the event were the CKS College President Dr. Dory Poa, CKSCAAI President, Mrs. Margarita Go, CKSCAAI Vice Presidents Mr. Benjamin Tan and Ms. Joyce Dy, CKS College Vice Presidents, Atty. Danny Chan and Mr. Judelio Yap, CKS College Deans, Ms. Maribel Chan, Dr. Rolance Chua, and Dr. Imelda Nery, CKS College Coordinator for Accountancy Programs, Mr. Ankiat Byron Co, CKS College Head of Scholarships and Grants, Ms. Luzviminda Sim, CKS College Registrar, Mrs. Sol Yee, scholars and their respective parents and or guardians.

A short but concise briefing about the contents of the memorandum of agreement was held beforehand, and the event was officially started with some opening remarks from Dean Maribel Chan. It is followed by the presentation of the Honors' Circle Scholars and the Scholars under the Tomas Siatianun Educational Foundation, and the signing of the enrollment undertaking. Then, the CKSCAAI president, Mrs. Margarita Go shared an inspirational message to share tips and to motivate the scholars.

The program was ended with the appreciation speech of one of the Honor’s Circle Scholars, Ms. Hannah Diane Asaña, who shared and expressed words of gratitude and appreciation in behalf of her fellow scholars. 

International Conference of Future Business Leaders


Business Administration students of Chiang Kai Shek college visited De La Salle University Manila to participate in The International Conference of Future Business Leaders’s conference last August 4, 2017. The annual event celebrates camaraderie between business students from various local and international universities.

This year's theme is “Thriving in the Business of Tomorrow”. Highlights of the convention were the Intercultural Business Competition, Company Tours, Corporate Simulations, and a Culminating Night and Cultural Exchange amongst the participating international delegates.

Students got to listen to talks from young entrepreneurs and seasoned corporate leaders. The afternoon session of the conference was kicked off by Ariel Lacsamana, president of 3M Philippines, who gave an overview on how the company achieved international success. He was then followed by Nico Bolzico, founder and CEO of LM10, who gave an honest talk about learning from mistakes, and how learning is a continuous process.

Mr. Lester Codog, founder of Foil a Car, also shared his past experiences in hopes of inspiring the students to not give up in the face of hardships. The conference ended with a plenary session with Happy Skin founder Jacqe Gutierrez, Risque Design founder Tal de Guzman, Skinny Swim founder Meryll Yan, and SEOHacker founder Sean Si.
