CKS College Job Fair 2016

In line with the CKSCollege’s commitment to help provide internship and employment opportunities to the students and graduates, the Marketing and Extension Office together with the Guidance Office organized the college’s annual job fair last February 4 & 5 at the 7th floor of Narra Campus.

The Job Fair was participated by 80 companies including those who just recently joined like the Republic Biscuit Corporation, ABS-CBN Corporation, and SM Supermarket.

This allowed the graduating batch of school year 2015-2016 to explore and be oriented about various job opportunities related to their respective fields. The Job Fair also provided a venue for graduating students, recent graduates, and reputable companies and institutions to meet and discuss mutually beneficial employment options.

NSTP Blood Letting Program: “ Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko”

The NSTP Office, in cooperation with the CKS College Health Services Department and in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross, Manila Chapter, conducted a blood letting program entitled "Dugo Mo, Buhay Ko" at the CKS College (Narra Campus) clinic last February 5, 2016. Students participated and voluntarily submitted themselves to meticulous screening. 18 bags of blood were extracted from qualified donors and donated to the Philippine Red Cross.

Job Fair 2016

CKSian graduates continue to be highly sought after by employers from various industries. In this year's Job Fair, approximately 80 companies (40 on the first day and another 40 on the second day) are participating to attract the most promising graduating students and alumni.

The CKS College Job Fair 2016, to be held on February 4 and 5 at the CKS College Narra Campus, is a joint undertaking of the CKS College Marketing and Extension Office and the CKS College Guidance Office. It is held annually to bring together and match CKSian jobseekers with companies seeking to enrich their human resources.

CKSians are Back-to-Back Marketing Champs

Two teams of CKSian Marketing achievers were declared Champions at the recently concluded Conference of Aspiring Marketing Professionals (CAMP). CAMP is an annual CHED-endorsed conference organized by the Association of Marketing Educators of the Philippines, Inc. It brings together students from colleges and universities nationwide to participate in networking opportunities with companies, marketing competitions, and symposia about relevant and emerging Marketing trends. Now on its tenth year, CAMP was held last January 29, 2016 at the Flying V Arena, San Juan City.

This year, CKS College sent three teams of students to take part in three competitions. The first team comprised Judd Ong, Nicole Diane Sy, and Rose Ann Yulo-Uy. They competed in the Marketing research category. They were tasked to conduct a research study on the perception of companies and Marketing students regarding graduate attributes that are necessary for employment. Although the team did not rank among the top 3 in this category, they were highly praised by judges for the feasibility of their recommendations.

The second team comprised Charlene Kim Dizon, Jasmin Russel Lim, Bernardine Tandoc, and Trisha Que. They competed in the Below-the-Line Advertising category. Thirteen teams of students from colleges and universities nationwide were given a case study on Hive Hotel, for which they were to come up with an advertising proposal. The CKS College team's recommendations were described as "spot-on," as they were praised for how well their strategies matched Hive Hotel's target market. The team was declared Champion.

After winning first runner-up in the previous year's CAMP Marketing Quiz Bee, the CKS College team was determined to come back stronger this year. And they did, as they ranked first among 21 competing teams and were declared Champions. Heather Angelique Co, Jamaica Maru Costales, and Jasmine Tiffany Wong-- all CKS College Honors' Circle Batch 1 scholars --worked together to emerge victorious by the end of the three-round competition.

Once again, CKS College has proven that the college does not only excel in the field of Accountancy, but also in other fields of study, Marketing included. The two trophies are not only a symbol of CKSian excellence, but also a symbol of CKSian spirit-- that which persists in the face of challenges and thrives in the midst of opportunities. The victories are also significant milestones as the tertiary division of Chiang Kai Shek College continues to celebrate its 50th founding anniversary this school year.
