A Day for CKSCian Teachers

The teacher’s day celebration was held at the CKS College gym last September 22. In it, the teachers and students were treated to an enticing set of performances done by MAD (Music, Art and Dance) where they showcased a range of different talents by CKS students.

The celebration started off by wonderful hosting done by Jasmin Lim and John Carcido. It was soon followed by the giving of the opening remarks done by one of the MAD coordinators, Michael Ty.

The audiences were then treated to a wonderful song entitled “I learn from you” which was sung by Chloie Hermosura and her guitarist, Jorel Jerusalem. And to further set the mood, there was a flash mob dance performance lead by Irish Chan.

The main highlight of the celebration was the play that was performed by students. It followed the story of the teacher named Mrs. Bartolome and her struggles to keep her passion of teaching while at the same time managing her own problems with her family. The story was relatable to both teachers and students; as it manages to emphasize the problems and struggles that we face in our lives as teachers and students. Overall, the audience enjoyed the wonderful performance and has given the cast a warm round of applause after the play was over.

And before the celebration was over, the audience was treated to yet another wonderful song entitled “The Prayer” which was sung by Allysandra Maxine Tan. And finally, the event was concluded with the giving of the closing remarks doneby Hannah Yu, also one of the MAD coordinators.

“The Key to Tomorrow; Success Through Ups and Downs”

The Junior Organization held the seminar entitled: “The Key to Tomorrow; Success Through Ups and Downs”, last September 20, 2016. The speaker for the seminar is the President of the National Press Club of the Philippines, Mr. Benny Antiporda.

The speaker shared his experiences from his errors to success. He greatly emphasized no matter how much you love your job, you should never ever forget about your well-being because as he quotes it ‘health is wealth’. This means there is nothing in our life that is more valuable than good health. Without health there is no happiness, no peace and no success. A person with bad health cannot enjoy the pleasure of being wealthy. Health is more valuable than money. Money cannot buy health and happiness. But a healthy person remains in a state of bliss and happiness.

Before ending the seminar, he expressed the lessons he learned in his life – doing good deeds –  give from your heart – this is one of the greatest things any of us can do in life, reaching out and doing a good deed for another human being. Whether it means offering your love and compassion, or making a charitable donation of time, energy, or money, there are many ways to bring sunshine into the lives of others.
