Last February 23-24, CKS College held “The Golden Symposia: ALUMNI Lecture Series” with the theme “CKS Graduates’ witness to Higher, Brighter, and Stronger Inspiration for Excellence” at the CKS Narra Campus – College AVR. This is in line with the celebration of the college’s 50^th anniversary.

The guest speakers for the event were Engr. Alexander Sy Sun Eng and Prof. Ryan Oliver Lao for the first day; Mr. Teddy Sy, Mr. Mark Anthony N. Ong, and Mr. Ian Dean Loreños for the second day. The lecture series was attended by different students from the tertiary level and the grade 11 senior high school with hopes of getting very helpful insights from college graduates who have already gone a long way since their departure from the school.

Taking different paths after graduating from CKS College, each speaker shared his stories and memories of his time. Although the speakers’ career experiences vary, they have all been guided by their tenacity, goals, and passion. The students took this chance to gain even more wisdom from the speakers through their different questions during the open forum. The two-day lecture series ended with all the attendees blessed by the speakers on their plans for the future.

Last February 20, 2016, Chiang Kai Shek College  Dental Health Services and NSTP Office held a joint seminar entitled “ 9 Dental Health Concerns Among College Students”.  The main speaker for the seminar was CKS College school dentist, Dr. Mary Ann Chua Kua. Special guest speakers were Mr. John Karlo Herrera, the Brand Associate of Pascual Laboratories, Oracare, and Nutrinam products and Dr. Alfred Joseph Valera, a Dental Surgeon from the Oral Surgery Department of the University of the East College of Dentistry.
NSTP students were taught about the 9 concerns which cause dental problems like tooth cavities, gingivitis, periodontitis, and many more. After the problems  had been presented, solutions were given to prevent the occurrence of these dental health concerns like proper brushing of teeth, flossing technique, and mouth rinsing.
After the lecture, students participated in the open forum. Sample products of Pascual Laboraties like Oracaremouth rinse, Poten-ceevitamins, and C-Lium Fiber were distributed by Miss Catherine Bernardo and Miss Kattrixe Castillo.  

Last February 6, 2016, the Health Services Department, headed by Dr. Dewitt Lim and the NSTP Office, under the supervision of Mrs. Marijane V. Anacito, conducted a joint seminar entitled “Are you Ready for the Big One?” with invited resource speakers from IDRN (International Disaster Response Network), namely Mr. Elmer Gelbolingo and Eng. Alfred Go. It was held in rooms 701- 703 of CKS College-Narra Campus from 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm.

The Seminar was about the most feared event called The Bi g One, a very strong earthquake that may happen to the Philippines and may cause big destruction on lives and properties.  Earthquake protocol like the drop, cover, and hold and ways in order not to be stuck inside a room were discussed. Proper techniques of carrying victims out of a disaster area were also taught and demonstrated.  It was an afternoon full if information and guidelines for students and staff to be fully aware and prepared when an earthquake or disaster happens and for them to be fully equipped to rescue victims and serve their families, friends, and neighbors when an earthquake strikes.

CKS College continues to excel in the field of Marketing, as Batch 2015 BSBA- Marketing Management cum laude, Ana Charlene Lim, ranked 4^th in the Certification Examination for Registered Marketing Professionals (RMP).

Now on its 5^th year, the RMP Certification Program is an industry-initiated project of the Junior Achievement Philippines and the Chartered Association for Business and Marketing Professionals. It is designed to help measure the knowledge, analytical skills, creativity, and problem solving ability of Marketing students and graduates, thereby giving prospective employers a better means of assessing and measuring the capabilities of Marketing applicants.

Ana Charlene Lim took the RMP exams, along with Marketing graduates from colleges and universities nationwide, last October 2015 at the Asian Institute of Management. It consisted of two parts (theoretical and case analysis) and covered six subject areas: Marketing Management, Sales and Sales Management, Services Marketing, Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications, Brand Management, and E-Marketing. The results of the exam were released on February 16, 2016.
