I Believe in Me: Guide on Enhancing One's Self-Esteem

An inspiring and motivational seminar was held at the AVR of the CKS College-Narra Campus last September 2, 2016. The speaker of this seminar was Mrs. Roma Wynn Cruz-Sedo, the current Guidance Counselor of San Beda College. With the partnership of the Guidance Office of CKS College-Narra Campus and the Rotary Club of Chiang Kai Shek College, it was indeed a successful seminar.

The speaker discussed how a person can change his view of himself and how he can compromise or handle situations. The seminar was full of attention-getting activities. As the program progressed, more  topics were tackled and the participants got the opportunity to know themselves more. Ms. Sedo used quotations by famous people to encourage aspiring students not to be afraid of failure, because with failure, comes success.

Before anyone can be successful, he should understand that every failure is an experience and a lesson that he can learn from and it's a ladder ascending to success and enlightenment. There were topics a teen could relate to, and the listeners could relate very well when she presented stories of hardships that other people have experienced and how they coped and foud ways to face and overcome the obstacles and challenges they went through. Ms. Sedo discussed how a simple person can bounce back after all the struggles he's been through and continue life being optimistic. She also highlighted that being confident also has limitations and that everything that is too much is bad. One should always stay humble and not get carried away. Her presentation ended when she showed a short video about continuing to strive harder, believing in one's self, having the right manners, and practicing proper work ethics.
