Last July 25, 2013, CKS College Marketing students took part in the StratMark conference at the Cuneta Astrodome. The said annual conference was organized by the Philippine Marketing Association, in cooperation with the Philippine Junior Marketing Association. A record-high 7,000 participants attended this year.
With the main objective of providing greater access to tertiary education that allows young people to acquire adequate knowledge and skills to earn a living in order to support their families, the Chiang Kai Shek College and PSBank Educational Assistance Program recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement last July 26, 2013 at the 2nd Floor of the Conference Room of CKSC’s Faculty of Business, Arts, and Sciences at the Narra campus.
For the School Year 2013-2014, eleven (11) college students in varying courses and year levels, ranging from BS Accountancy, BS Accounting Technology, Management, etc., were the recipients of this Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand Pesos (P220,000) grant.
On July 25, 2013, the Student Executive Council held this year’s Youth Empowerment Seminar at Chiang Kai Shek College’s main auditorium entitled: Marketing Innovation. The speaker was Mr. Josiah Go, one of the country’s most respected marketing gurus. This seminar was hosted by Joanah May P. Calaunan, a 3rd year Management Student.
Mr. Josiah Go emphasized that the three phases of innovation are to discover, to differentiate, and to deliver.“Change the rule or game, don’t be the market reader.” The first phase is to discover, marketers must change to make things more exciting rather than being confined within onself and be boring.
July 23, 2013 marks the annual Boardwalk Yes! Program entitled "YES to a Fun and Fashionable Way to Earn." More than a hundred CKSCians from different year levels and courses attended. Mrs. Michelle Fuentabella, the Managing Director of Boardwalk talked about personality enhancement and discussed the importance of developing the right attitude. The second speaker was the sales trainer of Boardwalk, Mr. Christian Rueda. He introduced the special privileges if students join Boardwalk and be one of their young entrepreneurs. These privileges include free registration, 25% discount, business capital, internship program, and free training and job hunting.
The School of Business and Accountancy, in cooperation with the HRM Society, Junior Management Society, Junior Marketing Association, Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, and the Young Entrepreneurs' Organization is currently preparing for the much anticipated CKS College Business Expo 2013.
This year's theme is "Business Opportunities: Success Beyond Limits." Featuring more than 16 groups of student-entrepreneurs, exhibiting alongside promising and innovative SME's, the Business Expo 2013 shall be held on September 5-7 at the CKS College lobby and 7th floor.
