With the main objective of providing greater access to tertiary education that allows young people to acquire adequate knowledge and skills to earn a living in order to support their families, the Chiang Kai Shek College and PSBank Educational Assistance Program recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement last July 26, 2013 at the 2nd Floor of the Conference Room of CKSC’s Faculty of Business, Arts, and Sciences at the Narra campus.
For the School Year 2013-2014, eleven (11) college students in varying courses and year levels, ranging from BS Accountancy, BS Accounting Technology, Management, etc., were the recipients of this Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand Pesos (P220,000) grant.
This grant allocates Twenty Thousand Peso (P20,000) to each student per school year to help in their tuition fees.
The eleven grantees of this educational assistance program are: Sarah Kristine B. De Asis-BS AccT4, Mary Grace Khu-BSBA Mktg Mgmt 3, Leah Son-BS Accountancy 2, Danica Hijoya Cheng, Clint Mark Ching, and John Lester Dy-BS Accountancy 1, Jamie Priscilla Chua and Oliver Roxas Chua-BSBA Mgmt1, Julian Micoh Tan-BSBA Marketing Mgmt 1, Ana Charlene Lim-BS Mktg Mgmt 3, and Sean Jerrold Esteban-BSBA Mktg 4. Each student is expected to have a GPA of 82 or above at the end of each semester.
In her opening remarks, CKSC President Dr. Dory Poa, thanked the PSBank for continuously providing assistance to poor but deserving students so that they can break the cycle of poverty once they land better paying jobs in the future.
The President of PSBank, Mr. Vicente Cuna Jr, on the other hand, expressed honor in being able to present PSBank grants to the students. This educational assistance has been granted by the bank to CKSC for the past several years now.
Key personnel of PSBank and CKSC were present to witness the signing of agreement; after which, refreshments were served.
