Usapang Puso: The Languages of Love


Last February 21, the NSTP 2 Tuesday group, handled by Prof. Ian Mark Arevalo, organized their first webinar entitled "Usapang Puso: The Languages of Love" hosted by Anjelo Sebastian and Alexandra Dela Cruz. Ms.Denise Geron and Mr. Amiel Bona, led the seminar as they discussed the different languages of love, namely: words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service, and receiving gifts, to share further knowledge on how we can express love in many simple ways. 

Ms. Geron and Mr. Bona concluded by saying that while love languages are useful tools for improving how we communicate and express ourselves, they should not be the only solution to happiness. Communication is a key to a good relationship.

HELLO WORLD: How to Kick-Start your Export Dream


The CKS College Office for Continuing Professional Education in partnership with the School of Business, Accountancy, and HM, organized a business webinar entitled, "Hello World: How to Kick-Start your Export Dream". It was held last February 26, 2022, Saturday, at 11:00AM via Zoom. The resource speaker is a proud CKSian, Drew Alianan. He was a Mansmith Young Market Masters Awardee for Export Marketing and the Director for Marketing Operations of North Ridge Foods.

The speaker shared steps on how to kick-start an export business. Having a vision and making a strategic roadmap come first in the list. Strategies must be communicated with all the stakeholders. Second is capacity alignment. The human, financial, and production capacity must be aligned with the strategic goals. This is followed by getting all the necessary documents in order to have the product country-compliant. Lastly, identify potential distribution partners/ consolidators and plan the initial spread.

This webinar was held in order to to get to know one of the country's top performing export companies in major countries worldwide and had a glimpse into what it takes to make a product export-ready.

 

Stock Market 101: Essentials to Start Investing Successfully


Chiang Kai Shek College Office for Continuing Professional Education in partnership with the School of Business, Accountancy, and HM, organized a free webinar entitled, "Stock Market 101: Essentials to Start Investing Successfully". The webinar was in coordination with Philstocks Financial, Inc. which was held last November 27, 2021, Saturday, at 1:30PM via Zoom.

The speakers were able to provide an in-depth discussion filled with highly valuable information and exceedingly useful and practical tips about stocks investment. The talk focused on stock market start-up and were able to discuss the following: Having a WINvesting mindset; different kinds of investor; the journey to financial freedom; the stock market; opportunities in the stock market; the tools and strategies to be used for invesment and to fully understand the stock market.

 

Forensic Accounting: What You Need To Know


Last September 25, 2021, a webinar regarding the updates in the field of accountancy was organized by the CKSC Office of Continuing Professional Education, in partnership with the School of Business, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management. The webinar entitled “Forensic Accounting: What You Need To Know” was successfully discussed by our esteemed guest speaker, Prof. Mark Ivan Leo Ricafrente. The rise of various fraud cases led to the significant development of Forensic Accounting in the accounting field.  As elaborated by Prof. Ricafrente, the pursuit of being a forensic accountant is not exclusive for those who are in the field of audit or accountancy, but can be pursued by everyone as long as they have the following abilities:

·        paying attention to the smallest detail;

·        analyzing data thoroughly;

·        thinking creatively;

·        possessing common business sense;

·        being proficient with a computer and having excellent communication skills;

·        having a “sixth sense” and a “photographic memory” that be used to visualize and reconstruct the details of past accounting transactions;

Mr. Ricafrente also discussed the Fraud Triangle, a useful tool to uncover possible fraud in an organization/system.  

Graduate Student Assembly for AY 2021 - 2022


 

Last September 18, 2021, the school of graduate studies organized the graduate students’ assembly. The purpose of the assembly is for the orientation of the students for the 1st semester of AY 2021 – 2022 and election of officers for the Graduate Student Executive Council. The graduate students were orientated about the use of library and EBSCO for research, health services, community extension activities, amongst other online services offered by the higher education department. The graduate students were able to had a dialogue with the Dean of the Graduate Studies, Dr. Rolance Chua, MAed Program Director, Dr. Imelda Nery, and MBA Program Director, Prof. Jessica Lhay Asana. After the election for the Graduate Student Executive Council, graduate students had an opportunity to develop leadership by planning and organizing school activities and service projects.
