CKS College to send 1+2+1 BSE TCL Students to Fujian Normal University


Last September 2, 2019, the Dean of School of Education, Dr. Imelda C. Nery together with the Associate Dean of Student Life, Ms. Wai Lin Sing, accompanied 23 BSE Major in Teaching Chinese Language and all recipients of the 1+2+1 Education Program students in Fujian Normal University, Fuzhou, Fujian, China.

They assisted all of students in their enrollment, ocular inspection of their board and lodging, the necessary bank transactions in so far as the allowances are concern and their personal needs in order to assure the students’ welfare, security, and protection.

A short program was conducted in order to meet the officials of Fujian University followed by an ocular visit at Soledad Building in the School of Education, Fujian University.

JPIA Seminar: Aspiring CPAs unfold their proficiency with SGV


Last September 11,Wednesday, Sycip Gorres Velayo & Company, branded as SGV & Co., graced the second seminar of Chiang Kai Shek College Junior Philippines Institute of Accountants (CKSC-JPIA), entitled "Unfold Our Proficiencies". The seminar was held at the Conference room of CKSC Narra campus, located at the second floor. Mr. Jonathan T. Bino and Ms. Julia-Anne Deypalan spearheaded the said seminar.

The seminar was mainly facilitated by Mr. Jonathan T. Bino. He has been in the industry for more than 10 years already. He audits the largest port management company in the Philippines, a well-known logistics company in the country and a company with a widely used  online travel application among others. Furthermore, Mr. Bino is also an alumnus of CKSC high school batch 2004 and CPA Board Placer in 2008.

CPA Recognition Program 2019


The Chiang Kai Shek College School of Business, Accountancy, and HRM, in partnership with the CKS - Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, held a Recognition Program to award and acknowledge CKS alumni who successfully passed the October 2018 and May 2019 CPA Licensure Exams last August 24, 2019. Faculty members, CKS College BS in Accountancy students, and other distinguished guests were also there to witness the celebration.

Gracing the program to extend their support were CKSC Collegiate Club Honorary Presidents, Mrs. Loraine Tan and Mrs. Pue Chin Chua. Vice President for English Academic Affairs and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies—Dr. Rolance Chua, Director for Administrative Affairs —Ms. Maribel Chan, and Program Head for Accounting—Mr. Ankiat Byron Co, and Program Head for Business and Entrepreneurship — Ms. Lhay Asaña.

Ms. Joshua Mae Chantengco, a CPA Board passer who was formerly under the Bridging Program of the college, and Ms. Hannah Diane Asaña, also a CPA Board exam passer and previously an Honors’ Circle scholar, gave their speeches to share their experiences, and to show gratitude to the school and to all the people who helped them throughout their journey to become CPAs.

With its commitment to excellence and its desire to continuously produce top graduates, CKS College endeavors never to stop improving and growing its various programs, particularly the Accountancy program. Moving towards embracing the next generation of learners, it shall prove that it has what it takes to be consistently ranked among the top Accounting schools in the country.

Connecting Pieces: Rotaract General Assembly


The Rotaract Club of Chiang Kai Shek College held its first general assembly at the 4th Floor Audio Visual Room of the Narra Campus last August 19, 2019. This year’s General Assembly is entitled “Connecting Pieces, in sync with the actual theme “Rotary Connects the World”.

The CKSian Rotaractors were oriented by PDRR Alexiz Tan, who gave them a glimpse of what it means to be a Rotaractor, highlighting on various activities that the membership would offer.

After the talk, the Champion President of the Rotary Club of Chinatown Manila, Mr. Bryan Toledo, welcomed the new members and congratulated the officers, and altogether encouraging participation in the future events the club would hold.

GLOBAL YOUTH SUMMIT 2019


Last August 17, 2019, the Global Youth Summit was held at the Mall of Asia Arena. The CKSian attendees were able to garner professional development learnings from respectable people of various industries.

Mr. Prim Paypon, Executive Director of the Asian Institute of Management, coined the term “Filipino Dreamagineer”, a play on the words “Filipino”, “dream”, “imagine”, and “engineer”. He encouraged the audience to work with Filipino innovations that leave an impact, stating that the passion for such may come with pain that one must overcome in order to create progress.

Department of Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo–Puyat spoke of sustainable tourism, encouraging the crowd to “be part of the Philippines” by travelling and promoting the country

Dr. Gia Sison, mentioned about approving mental health radically, citing that this fight is “not separate from the other fights for social justice”.

Mr. Greg Auberry, the President and CEO of Consuelo Foundation, spoke of creating safe spaces for all, emphasizing on the importance of empathy and respect.

Finally, Anne Curtis, actress and National Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF, highlighted on the importance of allowing the youth to have safe spaces online and offline, by giving them the chance to share their feelings and relate with one another.
