Chiang Kai Shek College Adopts Barangay Sabang in Tuy, Batangas


Last July 4, 2023, Chiang Kai Shek College (CKSC) took a significant step in fostering community engagement and social responsibility by signing a Memorandum of Agreement with Barangay Sabang in Tuy, Batangas. The agreement outlined the CKSC’s formal adoption of Barangay Sabang for a duration of five years where CKSC shall focus on providing it support and assistance.  

The ceremony was attended by key representatives from both parties namely Dr. Judelio Yap, the President of CKSC, and Dr. Rolance Chua, the Vice President for Academic affairs, who represented the college. On the other hand, Mr. Crispin Padilla, the Barangay Capitan, represented Barangay Sabang. The signing of the memorandum of agreement was witnessed by Mrs. Wai Lin Sing, the Director of Student Services and Academic Support, Mrs. Sharon C. Doma, the Head of Community and Extension Office, and Mr. Neil Constantino Martinez, Teacher III and Officer-in-Charge of Eulogio G. Cerrado Elementary School.

The agreement solidified the commitment of both CKSC and Barangay Sabang to collaborate closely, foster mutual cooperation and engage in various activities for the betterment of the community. CKSC pledged its support in specific areas such as education, health, livelihood, and infrastructure development. TheCKSC students and staff would actively and consistently participate in community projects, leveraging their skills, resources, and expertise to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Barangay Sabang.

With the Memorandum of Agreement in place, CKSC and Barangay Sabang embark on a journey of shared responsibility which aims to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of the residents on the said Barangay. This collaborative endeavor symbolizes the spirit of unity and cooperation between the academic institution and the local community with the common goal of building a better future together.

 

Delve into the Rich Taste of Taiwanese Culinary Artistry


On October 12, 2023, the Overseas Community Affairs Council of Taiwan orchestrated a captivating cooking demonstration under the title "2023 International Tour of Taiwan Gourmet Cuisines." Enthusiastic students and eager participants were afforded a rare opportunity to witness and directly learn from the skilled hands of Chef Zhang Yuling and Chef Peng Xuanqi. This event took place at the CKS College 7th flr. HRM Laboratory.

The chefs orchestrated a masterful display, unveiling the intricate preparation techniques behind signature Taiwanese dishes. Among these culinary delights were the aromatic Salt Baked Chicken 盐焗鸡, the savory pleasure of Braised Pork with Pickled Vegetables 梅菜扣肉, the indulgent Eight Treasure Pork Belly Wrapped Chicken Soup 八宝猪肚鸡汤, the flavorful Braised Stuffed Tofu known as 东江酿豆腐, and the visually stunning 3D Jelly Cake 3D立体蔬果冻. This event not only celebrated the diverse flavors of Taiwan but also provided an immersive experience, enabling attendees to savor the essence of Taiwanese cuisine.

The occasion, adorned with the culinary artistry of these experts, not only tantalized taste buds but also deepened cultural appreciation for Taiwan's rich gastronomic heritage. Amidst the sizzling aromas and vibrant colors, the cooking demonstration painted a delicious portrait of Taiwanese cuisine, leaving participants with a newfound admiration for the intricate flavors and culinary traditions of this vibrant island nation.

 

CKS COLLEGE SHMS COLLAB WITH THE GREAT ESCAKES


On November 8, 2023, the collaboration between CKS College SHMS and The Escakes Team resulted in a highly successful event. During the fair, students not only demonstrated their baking skills but also applied the pastry-making techniques they had learned. This occasion served as a valuable platform for hospitality management students to apply their culinary expertise, enabling them to create a diverse array of delicious pastries.

In essence, the collaborative effort between CKS College SHMS and The Escakes Team was not merely an event; it was a manifestation of academic excellence seamlessly blending with the artistic finesse of pastry-making, creating a tapestry of success and accomplishment for the participating students.

 

School of Graduate Studies Students' General Assembly


 

Last September 30, 2023, the Chiang Kai Shek College Graduate School students held their General Assembly at the Narra campus. The event was graced by Dr. Rolance Chua, the Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Dean of School of Graduate Studies. The speaker, Dr. Imelda Nery, the Program Director, Master of Arts in Education, discussed vital key points in her insightful talk. Ms. Jessica Lhay Asana, Program Director, Master in Business Administration, hosted the program.

The Graduate School Officers for School Year 2023-2024 were elected. Since it was the celebration of the Mid-autumn festival, a dice game was held on that same day.

CKS College Entrep Summit 2023


CKSian Entrepreneurs and students came together in a vibrant display of knowledge and innovation at the Entrep Summit Lecture Series entitled, Quality Management Unleashed: CKSIAN Entrepreneurs' Strategies for Success. This was held last October 25, 2025, at the Ching Ban Lee Memorial Hall, CKSC Padre Algue Campus. This event is made possible by the School of Business and Hospitality Management and Office for Continuing Professional Education in partnership with Chinoy TV as the media sponsor. This is one of the events organized in celebration of the 84th founding anniversary of CKS College.

The event featured prominent CKSian alumni in the field of manufacturing: Natalie Uy (CKS HS Batch ’87), President Owner of LRI Chroma Asia Inc., UDragon Corporation, and Kingsville Property Holdings; John Lee (CKS HS Batch ’87), President of Applied Machining Corporation and Chairman of First Aerocote Surface Technology Inc.; and Jack Lua (CKS College Batch ’07), Corporate Secretary of Greenmiles Industrial Corp.

These CKSian entrepreneurs shared their dedication to quality improvement, drive growth, foster innovation, and create a positive impact on both the business, community, and the environment. They left the students with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration that they can carry forward in their respective endeavors.
