The Philippine Junior Marketing Association, in cooperation with Havas Media Ortega, organized “Madworld 2015: Unraveling the Creative Genius”, which was held on February 8, 2015 at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Participated in by about 6,700 attendees from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao schools, the first session of the conference, hosted by Ms. Gretchen Ho, started with a dynamic performance from Mr. Rico Blanco.
The first speaker, Ms. Leigh Reyes, the CEO and President of Lowe Philippines, talked about “The Art and Innovation Perspective”, primarily about learning new things and being innovative in one's own little way. She also tackled the world “Flearn”, that one must experience failing before learning.
The second speaker was Mr. Lawin Bulatao, the executive creative director of Arena Media who talked about “The Art of Crafting”. He said that crafting can be found in everything in us, even in our decision making. He also explained the importance of Advertising, that it is not about creating sales but it is about creating what we desire.
Sterling group of companies opened the second session, with Papa Jack hosting. Mr. Brandie Tan, the Chief Creative officer of Publicis Jimenez Basic, was the first speaker, who talked about The Global Perspective of Creativity and Advertising. He stated that we can globally compete with the best ones in the world when it comes to advertising and he stated some of his friends who are now successful with advertising and creativity all across the world. He reminded the audience to think always with a global mindset. And he believes that Filipinos can be one of the best when it comes to creativity and advertising.
The second speaker was Mr. Budjette Tan, Mr. Brandie’s brother and McCann Worldwide's executive creative director, who talked about Storytelling. The talk was primarily about Magic Tricks when it comes to advertising.
Lastly, Mr. Jos Ortega, the CEO of Havas Media Ortega shared his six-year Madworld experience. Overall, the seminar was really one for the books. All the attendees were satisfied with another edition of Madworld, especially with the many prizes given away to lucky winners.
