Last July 5, 2013, the Chiang Kai Shek College FBAS- Student Executive Council held its annual Frosh Confidence Program entitled STEP UP: COLOR SPLASH 2013. This program aims to welcome freshmen and transferees as members of the FBAS family. Dean of the Department of Student Affairs, Dr. Rolance Chua, delivered the opening remarks, welcoming the freshmen to the college and reminding them that they are now part of one big family. And as CKSCians, everyone should get to know, help, and cooperate with each other. The closing remarks were delivered by SEC president, Michelle Lau.
The freshmen were also introduced to the various student organizations at CKS College, as they watched an AVP of these organizations’ officers, projects, and programs. Third year student Lynnete Chung performed a song number, entitled “Living the Moment,” reminding students that even when they face struggles and stress in college, they should learn to slow down and take a moment to appreciate life’s blessings. Freshman Shaina Laxamana also sang “A Thousand Years.” Another freshman, Danica Cheng, also entertained the group with the song “My Valentine.” In addition to these, there were special dance numbers from selected freshmen students and the CKS College Dance Republic.
The freshmen were treated to an exciting afternoon of fun and games. The students were grouped based on the color of their baller bracelets, which were distributed a week prior the event. Games such as Draw Me, Egg Nog Game, Roller Coaster, and Cheese Ring Game. Among the 6 teams, the violet team emerged as the winner.
