Honors' Circle 2014 : MOA Signing and Presentation of Scholars

Chiang Kai Shek College (CKS College) and the Chiang Kai Shek College Alumni Association, Inc. (CKSCAAI) renewed their partnership through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement governing the CKS College Honors’ Circle last July 17, 2014 at the Conference Room, CKSC Narra Campus.  Witnessing the MOA signing between CKS College, as represented by CKSC president Dr. Dory Poa, and CKSCAAI, as represented by CKSCAAI Mr. Philip Chan, are CKS College administrators and program heads, CKSCAA officers, and Honors’ Circle scholars and their parents.

The Honors’ Circle is a merit scholarship program designed to bring together high-achieving students who shall undergo specialized and individualized advising, mentoring, and training. Driven by the vision of creating generations of achievers and leaders who shall one day make a difference in society, two batches of scholars have already been admitted into the program since its launching in 2013.

The first Batch of Honors’ Circle scholars include: Mikee Marrielle Chua (BS in Accountancy), Heather Angelique Co (BSBA-Marketing Management), Jamaica Maru Costales (BSBA-Marketing Management), Charlene Kim Dizon (BS in Accounting Technology), Bryann Raymart In (BS in Accountancy), Richel Anne Placido (BS in Accountancy), Tami Anne Tan (BS in Accountancy), Mary  Louise Tang (BS in Accountancy), Alexandra Landry Ty (BS in Accountancy), and Jasmine Wong (BSBA-Marketing Management). These scholars have successfully complied with the academic standards and requirements set forth by the program, and are 2nd year scholarship recipients.

The second Batch of Honors’ Circle scholars include: Rachel Marie Ang (BS in Accountancy), John Arnold Antonio (BS in Accountancy), Hannah Diane Asaňa (BS in Accountancy), Dominic Bryan Kua (BS in Accountancy), Ma. Christeen Lo (BS in Accountancy), Krizza Gail Monsanto (BS in Accountancy), Wilson Paolo Ng Than (BS in Accountancy), Kimberly Mae Samson (BS in Accountancy), John Ernest See (BS in Accountancy), Gladys Ting (BS in Accountancy), Michael Christian Ty (BS in Accountancy), and Shendell Mae Vicher (BS in Accountancy). This batch of scholars is comprised of first year CKS College students who successfully met the entrance requirements for the Honors’ Circle program.

The MOA signing ceremony started with the opening remarks from CKSC president, Dr. Dory Poa. She expressed her and CKSC’s gratitude to the CKSC Alumni Association for its unwavering support to the school. She also exhorted the students to strive hard for excellence and make their alma mater proud. Following the MOA signing, the scholars were introduced by CKS College Dean of Business, Accountancy and HRM, Ms. Maribel Chan. Scholars and parents then signed the Enrolment Undertaking, through which they committed themselves to abide by the scholarship guidelines and provisions.

In his inspirational message, CKSCAA president, Mr. Philip Chan, expressed his pride in CKSCAA’s part in contributing to the future of the country through the Honors’ Circle program. He encouraged the students to pursue their journey towards success, one step at a time, facing and defeating all odds, and emerging winners. He reminded them not to doubt their capabilities, face challenges fearlessly, and keep on going.

The simple yet significant MOA signing ceremony and program ended with a response from scholars. Bryann Raymart In, Batch 1 Honors’ Circle scholar, thanked both CKSC and CKSCAAI for their financial and moral support. He also expressed gratitude to the parents present for their sacrifice and guidance.

Much hope lies in this program. It is the desire of CKSC and CKSCAAI to send these scholars into the world, equipped and able to make a difference.
