CKSC HRM Students are 2nd Placers in Vegetarian Cooking Challenge

On June 29, 2014, CKS College HRM students, Ms. Kim Nicole Tan (蔡麗金) and Ms. Joyce Fernandez (劉妙智participated in the “Go Green, Go Veggie” cooking challenge, which was organized by the Fo Guang Shan (佛光山) Community and the Buddha’s Light International Association. The competition was held at the Mabuhay Temple, Malate Manila. The two participants were trained by Chef Sherril Chua (蔡麗安), assisted by fellow student and CKSC-HRM Society president, Mr. Mikhail Dominik Riano (陳志勇).

Each of the teams had to present a four course vegetarian meal (appetizer, soup, main course & dessert) for the judges, and they had to present three plates for each dish within one hour and thirty minutes. (Pictures below are the dishes that the CKS College team presented to the judges).

Appetizer: Sweet, Sour & Spicy Salsa on Lettuce

Soup: Tom Yum in Coconut Water

Main Course: Avocado Pesto Pasta w/ Curry Bread

Dessert: Banana Chocolate Cake

At the end of the event, Philippine Cultural College was declared 3rd placer, with Chiang Kai Shek College taking 2nd place, and Philippine Women's University taking first place.
