Filipino: Wikang Mapagbago

The CKS College Buwan Ng Wika Celebration, themed “Filipino: Wikang Mapagbago,” was held last August 31, 2017 at the Benjamin Chua Jr. Gymnasium. The purpose of the activity was to develop amongst students a deeper appreciation for the Filipino Language and culture and to strengthen the use of the Filipino language in daily life.

Both Senior High School and College students were treated to various performances and activities organized by the CKS College Society of Motivators, Achievers, and Responsible Teachers (SMART) and the Senior High School Student Government.

The program was comprised of three parts. The first part featured fun and entertaining games such as the Sack Race and Dragon’s Tail In the second part of the program, Education students rendered Filipino and folk song and dance numbers. Capping off the program was the search for Lakan and Lakambini, in which 7 pairs of students representing different strands and courses showcased their talent and personality. Mr. Kirk Raymond Chan (BSBA-Management) was crowned Lakan 2017 and Ms. Marianne Sanots (SHS_HUMMS Strand) was named Lakambini 2017.

Truly, the Filipino language is dynamic and diverse. Even so, it remains to be strong regardless of the ever-changing world we live in.
