Recognition Program for October 2017 CPALE Passers

Last January 13, 2018, the Chiang Kai Shek College School of Business, Accountancy, and HRM, in partnership with the CKS - Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, held a Recognition Program to award and acknowledge CKS alumni who successfully passed the October 2017 CPA Licensure Exams and the October 2017 CMA Exams. Faculty members, parents of passers, CKS College BS in Accountancy students, and other distinguished guests were also there to witness the celebration.

Gracing the program to extend their support were CKSC Board of Trustees Honorary Vice Chairmen— Mr. Johnson GY Tan and Mr. Jose Averia and CKSC Board of Trustees Treasurer Mr. Alberto Tan Lee, CKSC Alumni Association Vice Presidents— Mr. Jimmy See and Ms. Joyce Dy, CKSC Alumni Association committee officer— Ms. Lolita Ching, CKS College Collegiate Club officers—Ms. Pue Chin Chua and Ms. Loraine Tan, and CKS College President—Dr. Dory Poa, Vice President—Mr. Judelio Yap, Director for English Academic Affairs and Dean of the School of Graduate Studies—Dr. Rolance Chua, OIC of Higher Education Deans’ Council and Dean of the School of Business, Accountancy, and HRM—Ms. Maribel Chan, and Program Coordinator for Accounting—Mr. Ankiat Byron Co.

The Recognition Program was held at seven o’clock in the evening at the CKSCAAI Conference Room, Padre Algue Campus of the Chiang Kai Shek College. It began with the warm welcome of the host, Ms. Hannah Asaña. Followed by the inspirational message of the CKS College President Dr. Dory Poa. Dr. Poa exhorted and congratulated the passers and encouraged them to continue to exhibit the qualities which helped them hurdle the many challenges that came with preparing for and passing the Board Exams. These qualities include Commitment, Perseverance, and Advancement. Commitment—because getting to where they are, the passers had to have a lot of courage. Perseverance—they have shown that if one does not give up, he can achieve his goals. And Advancement—their learning continues as they pursue their own careers.

Mr. Ankiat Byron Co, the coordinator of the BSA Program and also the adviser of JPIA, gave his words of appreciation to all who were able to join them in the event. The Board of Trustees, CKS College Alumni Association and CKSC Collegiate Club officers, and CKS College administrators congratulated all the passers and awarded them with medals and certificates.

Ms. Faye Alcaraz, a CPA Board passer who was formerly under the Bridging Program of the college, and Mr. Bryann In, also a CPA Board exam passer and previously an Honors’ Circle scholar, gave their speeches to share their experiences, and to show gratitude to the school and to all the people who helped them throughout their journey to become CPAs.

Last October 2017, CKS College earned a 73.33% passing rate, compared to the national passing rate of 30.44%. With 92 takers this October 2017, Chiang Kai Shek College's passing rate is 7th highest among schools with more than 50 takers. The October 2017 passers are:

With its commitment to excellence and its desire to continuously produce top graduates, CKS College endeavors never to stop improving and growing its various programs, particularly the Accountancy program. Moving towards embracing the next generation of learners, it shall prove that it has what it takes to be consistently ranked among the top Accounting schools in the country.
